Fall Credit Opportunities

HR Collaborative Hot Topic Virtual Series – September 9 – Keep It Legal Panel Discussion

Amy DeKok, ND School Board Association; Brian Schmidt, private attorney and Troy Seibel, ND Attorney General’s Office; will focus on the many evolving Human Resource legal issues. Each panelist brings a distinctive and different perspective to help address critical day to day challenges in this changing landscape.

Go to http://www.hrndgov.org/events/hr-conference-for-local-government/ to register for the virtual series. Registrants will receive access to all six sessions for the low rate of $50! Sessions will be recorded and provided to only those that registered.  NDSBMCP students can receive ½ credit for attending each training.  To receive credit, complete the Affiliate/Continuing Education Credit Form and email to me at rebecca.duben@ndsba.org.  Include the credit name, date of credit, credit available, your signature and the date you signed.  I will verify for the event staff section on the form. There is no deadline to submit the credit form for these webinars.

NDSBA Lunch & Learns – September 15 – Business Manager Evaluations

NDSBMCP students can receive credit for attending or viewing the recordings for the NDSBA Lunch and Learn webinars.  Each webinar is worth ½ credit.  Recordings and information about future webinars can be found at http://ndsba.org/index.php/resources/lunchlearn/.  Complete the Affiliate/Continuing Education Credit Form and email to me at rebecca.duben@ndsba.org to receive credit.  Include the credit name, date of credit, credit available, your signature and the date you signed.  I will verify for the event staff section on the form.  There is no deadline to submit the credit form for these webinars.

DPI Title I Schoolwide and Targeted Assistance Training
Title I schools are invited to attend a jointly coordinated preconference Title I training at the NDDPI & Cognia Continuous Improvement Conference. New Title I personnel and those needing a refresher are strongly encouraged to attend. It is required for any school interested in participating in the Schoolwide Planning Year. This FREE preconference training session includes information pertaining to the Title I requirements, best practices, and resources.

NDSBMCP Retake of Fall Courses:

  • Open Records and Meetings – 1 credit
  • Human Resources I – 1.5 credits
  • Ancillary Services Management – 1.5 credits
  • Asset Management, Investing and Bonding – 2 credits

Graduate students may retake any of the NDSBMCP offered courses for credit. Students must have completed and received a passing grade in the course to retake.  Students retaking a class for continuing education credit will receive a discounted rate and continuing education credit. Students may choose to attend the training in person or view the recording at a later date. The registration deadline is October 31, 2021.

To receive credit, students will need to email a paragraph to me on what they learned from retaking the class. Students will be given six months to view the class recording(s) and complete the writing assignment. Students retaking the course do not need to complete the class assignments.

Teacher’s Fund for Retirement Quiz

Student can receive 1/2 credit for completing the Teachers’ Fund for Retirement quiz at https://ndsbmcp.org/index.php/teachers-fund-for-retirement/. This online quiz should be taken after viewing the applicable resources on the NDSBMCP TFFR webpage. Your score will be recorded online.  Students may take this quiz and receive credit once a year.
