About the Instructor
Darin Scherr
Darin is the Business and Operations Manager for Bismarck Public Schools. Prior to becoming the Business and Operations Manager, Darin was the Director of Facilities and Transportation. Bismarck Public Schools is currently the largest school district in the state with almost 13,000 students. The district consists of over 2 million square feet of buildings on over 25 campuses.
Prior to Bismarck Public Schools, Darin was the State Energy Engineer for North Dakota. During his tenure at the state, he was directly involved with over $25 million of energy conservation projects. He also helped with the design of numerous Geo-Thermal or Ground Source Heat Pump systems across the state of ND. In addition to commercial projects, he also worked closely with Bismarck State College carpentry program on implementing energy efficiency into their curriculum.
Other previous jobs include environmental work and consulting work for the power plant industry.
Darin received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineer from UND and currently is a registered Professional Engineer. His credentials also include: Certified Business Manager (ND), Certified Energy Manager, Certified Business Energy Professional and Certified Green Building Engineer.

Final Assessment
The final assessment for this class will be worth a total of 50 points. The instructor will provide you with guidance on this final assessment during the class. Your completed final assessment must be returned via email to the instructor by Saturday, April 22, 2022. No proctor form is required with the final assessment.
