{"id":2815,"date":"2017-05-16T11:53:07","date_gmt":"2017-05-16T16:53:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ndsbmcp.org\/?p=2815"},"modified":"2017-05-16T11:58:10","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T16:58:10","slug":"registration-reminder-for-new-business-manager-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ndsbmcp.org\/index.php\/registration-reminder-for-new-business-manager-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Registration Reminder for New Business Manager Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Attention All Business Managers<\/strong><strong> \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>ND Century Code mentions the business manager by name, almost 100 times.\u00a0 Do you know all the things you are legally responsible for?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>We can help and provide a network of learned professionals to help you navigate all the challenges that go with your job.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The ND School Board Association (NDSBA), in association with the ND Association of School Business Managers (NDASBM) has sponsored <strong>The North Dakota School Business Manager Certification Program<\/strong> since 2013. \u00a0This program provides voluntary professional development for school business managers and those aspiring to become school business managers in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The objectives of the Business Manager Certification Program are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To develop and offer a certification program that helps \u00a0them become adept at their professional duties<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To develop and offer continuing education opportunities to foster continued professional growth by expanding their knowledge and skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To identify and implement strategies for emphasizing and\/or elevating the professional status of school business manager occupation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Classes are offered in Bismarck and online.\u00a0 Most classes are offered in conjunction with NDSBA events to minimize travel time and expense.\u00a0 The program can be completed in as little as two years.\u00a0 Students are required to take 52 hours of coursework and attend 9 hours of NDSBA, NDASBM, or other professional development events that enhance your understanding of legally required job functions, or other tasks needed for smooth operation of the district.\u00a0 The cost of tuition is $50 per hour, thanks to the ND Legislature subsidizing a third of the cost ($25 per hour) for each student.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>A new student class is beginning this summer, provided we have at least 15 students register.\u00a0 <\/strong>Click on this link for additional information, registration forms, and requirements:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ndsbmcp.org\/index.php\/handbooks-and-forms\/\">http:\/\/www.ndsbmcp.org\/index.php\/handbooks-and-forms\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Registrations are due by June 1<sup>st<\/sup>.\u00a0 Please contact <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"rebecca.wimer@ndsba.org\">Rebecca Wimer <\/a><\/span>or <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"patty.verdouw@ndsba.org\">Patty VerDouw<\/a><\/span> with any questions.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attention All Business Managers \u00a0 ND Century Code mentions the business manager by name, almost 100 times.\u00a0 Do you know &hellip;
